SCOTT ORTH - MARKETING CONSULTANT

I began dabbling online in 1998, and started my own e-commerce company in 1999. Though I had to quickly become proficient in all the ins-and-outs of owning a business, I spent most of my time on marketing strategies. 

I didn’t know a great deal about business then…or the Internet for that matter. But I learned that many business activities could be handled “on-the-side” so to speak. I ran financials in the evenings, took care of legal and contract issues at lunch or on the weekends, and spent late-nights returning customer service requests. But marketing is what consumed the majority of my day.

I learned that what I did today had a significant impact on my business…and revenue, tomorrow. Especially online, where marketing happens real-time. I tested everything, ran A/B scenarios, designed and launched a dozen different websites; diverse landscapes, variant colors, alternate content and shopping methods…all tied in with multitudes of off-site marketing strategies to bring traffic to these sites.

Marketing was the key. After selling my business I went on to consult with dozens of businesses through marketing agencies and web development firms. As a marketing consultant, I have created hundreds of successful marketing strategies, employed creative campaigns, and worked with a wide variety of small and large businesses to build effective, profitable online and mixed marketing strategies.
